Making an Effective Time table

The first problem that students face during their study routine is to make a timetable and follow it. Many students make timetable, work accordingly to it for some days or a couple of weeks but aren't able to follow the timetable for a long period of time. So what is the mistake here; the problem here is that most of the students' timetable is focused on the subjects that they have to study and not on the other activities that they also have to do in that time period like breakfast, lunch, dinner, bathing, relaxing and some other little things that they might have to do of which they aren't aware of like arrival of guests, etc. 

So you must rely on such a time table in which along with your studies other essential activities also given proper time.

Your time table should include the above points which would make your time table an effective time table.

Early morning wakeup

Now it is scientifically proven that your mind is most active in the morning time. So for a better grasp of subjects you must start studying in the morning. The fresh environment of morning increases our brain's potential to understand concepts. So if you have any conceptual or memorizing subject then you should study it in the morning time and you will clearly see the results in just 2-3 days.

90-20 Rule

Remember the 90 20 rule. According to this rule you should study 90 minutes and take rest for 20 minutes. repeat the rule throughout the day and you will see that your brain capacity to learn and to remember anything is increased. so whenever you are studying, study for 90 minutes then take a 20 minute break and again study for 90 minutes and take 20 minute break. During the break time you can listen to your favourite song or have a small nap aur just relax with your eyes closed. the scientific explanation behind this rule is that during this 20 minute break your tired brain heals and prepare itself for the next round. The neurons(brain cells) which are responsible for transmitting information from one part of brain to the other get exhausted and non-productive due to the loss of neurotransmitters during study. During this break neurotransmitters are again prepared in the neurones and your brain is ready for the next round.

Easy subject first

You should start your study with easy subject first. The reason for this is that if you try to study hard subject first for example physics, mathematics,etc. then you will encounter such numericals and problems which may not be solved at the spot and will make you irritated and also lowerns your confidence. Covering easy subject first will boost your confidence and mood & as you know if the starting is good then the end is also well.

Understand the Concepts

If you want to master any subject then the foremost important thing is to understand the concepts. If you understand the concepts then you can retain it for a very long time. So instead of cramming any topic, invest some time in understanding the concepts.

Stay hydrated during the study

Always keep a water bottle or jug at your study table and make sure to take little sips of water after every 10 mins. By this step your brain will remain hydrated during the study and the process of formation of neurotransmitters will be fastened. You can also drink tea or coffee in the break time for better results.

Stay away from Distractions

One of the major causes that students can't focus on their study is that they remain surrounded by so many distractions whether it is social media, friend's call, entertainment on YouTube or Netflix and the list goes on. 
So how to remain focused ?

You should use the very simple technique of dividing your whole day work/tasks into four parts as -

  1. Important and Urgent
  2. Not important but urgent
  3. Important but not urgent
  4. Neither important nor urgent
If you work accordingly to this method then you will find yourself less distracted and more focused.

Take some time and figure out what things are important for you to achieve your goal and what are the things that are not so important to you to achieve your goal and what are the things that are hindrance in the your to achieve success. 

The best way to eliminate any distraction from your daily routine is to slowly eliminating it from your daily life. For example, if you use social media 4 or 5 hours a day and want to cut off social media from your life then instead of completely removing social media in one day you should eliminate it slowly. The first day you can use it for 3 hours, then the next day you should use it for not more than 2 hours and in this way you should lower the time that you give to social media and finally you will able to completely eradicate social media from your life as a distraction. 

You can apply this technique to get rid of any distractions or bad habits in just a few weeks.
